| Wonderful City, its quite safe to use 'underground' Metro within section's of city, one euro, very quick way of getting around, also they have open top 'on and off' tour buses. red route or blue route both different. Christopher Columbus Statue in main square can be seen from most of the city. use as reference point. Visit un-finished Cathedral as early morning as you can, long lines after 10.30 when ships dock.
Chill out strolling Las Ramblas, avenue of cafes ect, watch out for statues that move, also Gaudi houses. From my point of view, the Museu Maritim at junction of Ramblas and Ave Paral-lel next to post office a must if you like History (Chris Columbus) but regardless you will love it.

| I absolutely loved Barcelona when I went. Just walking around the parks and drinking a cold beer in the shade was a great way to spend the day. I'd love to go back and spend a little more time there next time.
Do be careful with your handbag. We saw one woman have hers pinched because she had hung it from the arm of her chair. A guy simply sat in the chair next to her and walked away with it.

| Fantastic City, as mentioned before metro is a great way to get around, but do watch out for the pickpockets (mostly young kids on bikes). 3 of our group were pickpocketed, one of whom had their wallet in a zipped up pocket. Theiving is a big problem in some areas, but only if you let yourself be a target.
The unfinshed cathedral is a must, but try to avoid the crowds to the top and go early. Definatly take the long climb to the top rather than the lift, some amazing views all the way up the climb.
Do visit Las Ramblas, but don't spend the whole night there, many less comercialised, less expensive places to explore with much better food in my opinion.
So far the best weekend break i've had!

| I'm heading back for my 3rd weekend break there next month.
Fantastic city, the Metro is excellent, as is the red/blue tourist buses.
If you are bringing children, make sure to visit the aquarium (near Columbus statue).
The nearby National Museum is very interesting, particularily the exhibition on the Civil war/Catalonian independance struggle.
The tapas bars off los Ramblas are good value for money, but the Ramblas itself is an expensive area.
Finally, as others have said, be very wary of leaving bags, wallets ect.. exposed as there is a patty crime problem in the city.

| Which airport are you flying to? We went from Gerona to Barcelona with the bus supplied by RyanAir which cost around £10 pp and then took a cab to our hotel (not far from yours I should imagine) which only cost a couple of pound. Be aware that you might have to pay more for transporting luggage - there was a little card in our cab that listed the extra fees. I think a bag was only 1 euro but it did confuse us.

| We didnt use the underground because it was fantastic weather when we were there and so we walked everywhere. Its a bit of a trek to get to a lot of the places but it was nice enough. Plenty of beer stops en route of course :D

| I loved barcelona, do the city tour, there are two lines so if you are there long enough get a two day pass.on the tour you see everything and can jump on and off.I loved the gaudi park,it was really lovely. watch for your bag, there were 16 of us and one girl had hers ripped off her arm.Its a shame as it spoilt her week end. try the marina for drinks as well, nice and relaxing.

| Myself and my sister went to Barcelona last year as a long weekend, I have to say that I left wanting to move there!
We managed to do most of the Gaudi stuff, but i missed out on going to the Park, however if I never go back any other time, I want to go back when the cathedral is finished, we went to the tip of the highest tower and I official got my first ever feel of vertigo.
The beach was lovely, and the wine very good indeed.
Eating out was a tad hit and miss, the tourist areas version of tapas certainly leaves a lot to be desired, but get a time out guide or lonely planet, and hunt out some of the recommended restaurants and your in for some amazing food.
Also recommended is the big market at the top of La Ramblas

| During summer vacation, I went to www.ibizaspain.info and www.allmadrid.com with my parents, enjoying the fresh stunning beaches and gorgeous sight of the bay… Especially, in ibiza, we had a good time, joining the intense dance music parties, very fantastic! In madrid, we visited the historical plazas, monuments and churches. In the evening, we stayed in the well-equipped hotels at reasonable prices with excellent service. Oh, one more thing, when I chatted with Spanish about their real lifestyle, they are open-minded and kind. I enjoy this trip very much. Which country attract you most? Waiting for your chat.
