| I'm planning to book a trip to Barcelona as a surprise Christmas present and I'd like a bit of advice to make it perfect.
We briefly visited the city in July as part of a cruise, and we really liked it and said we'd stay there.
I'm looking to keep the cost down, so we'll probably go midweek in March, and I've looked at 3* hotels, I've not chosen one yet, but priced up the Glories and the AB Viladomat, does anyone know these hotels? are they central, are they clean, decent hotels?
I did price for 2 nights, but do you think thats enought time, or would 3 nights be better (the rtn flt is in the morning, so if we go for 2 nights we'll only really have a day and a half.)
I've read a few threads regards taxis/busses from airport, so I dont think we'll prebook a transfer (just for info, to pre-book a rtn taxi transfer will cost me £70.00)
I think thats all for now!! I might add one nearer the time for advice on things to see.

Hi Zola,
Three days would be better for a good overall view of Barcelona, don't know those hotels but we stayed in the Sansi Diputacio hotel some years back which is close to Las Ramblas, this was B&B for just over £40 per night.
You could try Las ramblas Hotels Barcelona, or even hotelsdirect.
Check out the reviews on here for Barcelona I 'm sure lots of members have been.

Not sure if youv'e booked this trip yet but can recommend the atlantis hotel which is within five minutes walk from las ramblas and is prefect for the budget traveller.
have a look at their website
three days is not enough to experience the wonders of B. So you will end up going back again.

Yeah, I've booked this now, I've chosen the Husa Oriente, which is on Las Ramblas, I've read the reviews, and some people find it noisy, but I think we will be ok, it's a big city afterall, so I expect some noise if I'm in the middle of it!!
I'd appreciate any info on how to get around, and what places/things we MUST see, one thing on out list is to go to the Nou Camp, and is it best to get there on the tourist bus thingy? and how much is it to enter, and can you just turn up, or do you have to book in advance?
