The show was filmed in and around the Sol Pelicanos, the bar that they called the Neptune was actually Captain Morgan's Tavern which is right opposite the Pelcanos. The stars of the show though can actually be seen in the real "Neptune" bar which is situated approx 200 metres from the old town, across the road from the Diplomatic hotel.
The Sol Pelicanos is in the new town, a few yards from the indoor market. Incidentally, the indoor market is the best place to change your money, Sheilas or Tony's give a much better rate than anywhere else and is commission free.

Where you will be staying, you walk down the hill and you are in the new town area, not far from the Sol pelicanos and the indoor market.

According to the map the diplomatic is on Calle Gerona and backs onto Calle Lepanto. As a rough estimate walking time from the apartments to the diplomatic it can be anything up to and probably over an hour depending on how fast you walk. It used to take me around 40mins to get from Las torres to the square and i walk quite fast.

Id suggest getting the bus to the old town and finding a way from there. Or if you want to walk it...

Go down cardiac hill and turn right where the Albatros Todo is and walk along on the left hand side until you come to a crossing where you see the indoor market square infront of you.
Walk down that street and you'll pass some bars and Mariano's (This place is superb for chicken, id recommend it!)
Keep walking down that street past Sol Ocas/Pelicanos and then you will see Villa de Benidorm on your left.
Walk down that long street passing touts for show bars, John and Josephs and all the rest. Keep on going until you pass KFC and then you will see an arcade on your right..up there is the square for all the disco bars and nightlife. Keep on going up that road until you come to the Diplomatic, then follow rons directions. Once you are on the road past villa de benidorm its just the same road that takes you up there.

Quite long winded i know..but id rather give concise directions with things to look out for than just tell you a road name which is as much use as a chocolate teapot.

Failing that...get a taxi. It should cost you around 5-7 euros possibly.

Did you ever see The Mad Maori there Babe? What a great act he had, I first saw him on the north pier in Blackpool, then when we went to Benidorm in the winter, there he was at Morgans tavern.

The cast for Benidorm are gathering early January at the Pelicanos. They spend some evenings in the Neptune bar.
Producers are asking locals and long stay residents if they'd like to be "Extras". The pay isn't good though. 30 Euros per day and you have to be on set at 7am.
