Beware deposit chateau/ maison/villa St Thibery

Our family 20 people in total rented this villa over the summer, the owner of the villa has hit us with a bill of untruthful charges including extortionate cleaning charges (we left the villa as clean as we had found it). They are going to keep our deposit of 1,900 pounds! We will be pursuing the matter in the small claims court

Futhermore once we had paid the large deposit, futher charges were made for linen hire to the tune of 400 pounds (we said we would happily take our own but the owner said it was not possible and would take it out of our deposit if we didnt send her the money, so we had no option), when we arrived the linen was old and tatty.

I have seen similar comments about this property on tripadvisor.

I would avoid booking this villa at all costs

You have to very careful with some of these owners. Think i have seen this chateau for sale. So he is obviously does not give a damn. The company I work for has a strong vetting process http://www.SimplyChateau.com I hope it might come in useful for some people
