Having just come back i have to say that i enjoyed my time in SB. Its very different from Greece and Spain but also alot cheaper. I found that central bar on the strip had a great happy hour (6-2am) and live music every night.

There are large groups of Russians and Scandinavians (on their version of 18-30 holidays) but never had any problems with them. Although it can be a bit annoying when your in a bar and 200 noisy scandiavians invade on a bar crawl.

My advice:

Always ask the price of something before you get into a taxi/ask for a drink/or a service

I found that some bars charge different prices every time you order (but its too late when they have opened the bottles and have placed them on the bar)

Dont get into a cab or Tuk Tuk without forst agreeing a price. Me and a friend had a ride in one for about 10 mins and he wanted 50 levs EACH (the price was hidden away)

Get used to paying for the toilets. Its normally 0.50 levs but if they are in a bad mood or she wants to shut then she will try and charge you 2/3 levs. It makes you really mad sometimes!!

Dont ever go down to the beach at night. Its full of prostitutes/muggers/fake policeman who will rob you ( i spoke to 4 seprate people who this happened to - mainly drunk young men)

having given in this advice please dont be put off just be switched on from the moment you arrive. It took me a day or so but by then it had definately cost me money. its a great place and i did have a great time inspite of my warnings

If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.
