I would go by bus - no rush and you can see everything - never mind the window falling out - it's Goa. Just take everything in - sights and sounds.
Taxi drivers from the airport are crazy - the first one we ever took I made his stop and gave him a lecture about not overtaking on blind bends, not paying attention etc etc and said he would not get a tip if he did not drive properly. It worked and we had a nice drive back - he was only going to go back to the airport to sit in the que for the rest of the day anyway so could get me to Candolim safely.

theres something to be said for taking the coach transfer. as previously stated, you get plenty of time to see the countrside, how peolpe are living and in what sort of accomadation. theres the aromas of goa, its like nowhere else on earth. you really do miss loads of stuff by getting to your hotel too quickly.
