| Hi,
I am also planning to go to Cancun in Aug/Sept in 2008 and have been told by Thomas Cook that there could be a possibility of hurricanes around this time. Not letting that put me off though as it may not happen.
Would have said though from other peoples comments that October may be better.

| Hi I have just booked to go to excellence riviera on Sept 6th and been to Mexico 4 times before inc once to excellence which is a superb hotel, but I've never been in Sept/Oct before , have been in November before and its not too hot but tends to get cloudy.
I have spoken to many people about the weather in September and it tends to get more rain and its stil hurracaine season but thought I'd give it a try am really looking forward to it and the countdown begins.
Whatever you decide to do enjoy!.

| Hi PUDS1970,
You will have to look out for us as we are going 24/08/08 for two weeks so it sounds like you will be going around the same time.
What tour operator are you going with?
Are there any tours you would recomend?
Thanks
Claire

| Hi Claire we are travelling with Caribbean warehouse on a Thomas Cook airways.
Regarding trips Chitchen Itza, Xel Ha are both well known and worth a visit Chitchen Itza for archilogical and Xel Ha is a nice place for relaxing and seeing fish its really nice there, a few people I know have swam with dolphins can be quite expensive but worth it its a humbling experience apparently.
It depends what you like doing really?, what agent are you travelling with? and have you been to Mexico before?.

| Paul,
We are travelling also with Thomas Cook,it is our honeymoon so we have gone all out, we have decided to upgrade the flights so that should be an experience.
We have never been to Mexico but have always wanted to, simply because we love Mexican food and wanted to try it in the country. But the restaurants sound amazing at the hotel.
A friend at work has been, she went last sept for her 40th, she did the swimming with dolphins and said the same thing about it being pricey but i think it is one of those lifetime trips so why not.
I am really looking forward to it, only 8 months to go!
we will have to meet up at the hotel once you arrive, we are getting there on the 24th August (day after wedding).
Thanks for your advice.

| No problem Claire you have picked an excellent hotel to have your honeymoon in, on the food the French was our favourite try the Chataubriand its truely delicious but the mexican restaraunt was nice good atmosphere and the room service is nice with the discreet boxes (where you put your dirty plates etc is convenient).
Enjoy!.

| Hi Nikki, I'm also going to Cancun with boyfriend on 9th September. We are staying at Riu Caribe. Like you, I wasn't aware of the potential for hurricanes and it also being the rainiest month when I booked.
I just hope that the weather is kind to us (after all, the seasons have changed here) !! Which tour company are you going with and where are you flying from?
