| Hello
I have been all over the states, Dubai, Singapore on holiday and I am planning this year's tripfor myself and my girl friend, my travel agent is recommending Cape Town, I am a little concerned about Africa, can anybody give me some advice whether it's a great place to go or not. Any other suggestions would also be welcomed.

| Hi James, don't worry about South Africa, I live in Birmingham and I think its more dangerous here. Me, the wife and my 3 kids have been to South Africa on numerous occasions and have even bought a property there ready for our retirement. Our smallest daughter was 12 weeks old on her 1st trip, hse had an ear infection and the doctor we saw at the clinic was from here. Wehave nevr had a package holiday there but have got flights hired a car and gone our own way, it the only way to go and by far the best. Driving is the same as here and theres less congestion but you do need your whits about you as there are taxis which are mini buses that are used by the locals and they and there drivers are something to experience. Cape Town gave us the impression that we could have been anywhere in the world and not really African but still a nice place and there is Boulder bay where you can share the beach with the penguins, now thats an experience. Fly to Africa from your local airport with KLM Air France Swiss Air, they normally have good rates. Get to Africa, get yourself a car and a good map then go exploring you will not regret it. Crime.....? well if you dont go into the squatter camps or townships and generally have your senses around you then you'll be fine and I assure you that you'll be booking again for next year. | Is it a great place to go???? Its the BEST place to go, fantastc climate, people, beaches, beautiful scenery. South Africa has it all, I especially love Capetown.
