Hi, I would like some advice on the best tour operators to use to get married abroad. I am pretty new to this, being my first time and would appreciate any advice and tips. We are looking at the Caribbean or Mauritius next year, has anyone been married or attended a wedding out there and could they recommend any resorts. There are only four of us going, two couples who will be both getting married.
Please reply...

Getting Married Abroad, Caribbean or Mauritius!!

We visited Tobago last year and it was really lovely. We spoke to loads of people who had been all over the Caribbean and they reckoned that it was the nicest island by far. I hate to say it
but I think its because the Americans won`t travel that far for a Carribean hol. The Coco Reef was recommended to us by a couple who got married there and he was from Tobago. It`s got everything you would expect, beautiful beaches and the laid back way of life and it`s so quiet. One tip- we watched a couple of people get married (we went in September) and every afternoon at about 4 it started to rain for about an hour. Stay away from that time slot!!! Hope you have a great time wherever you decide to go.

Hi, and congratulations!
I know its not the caribbean or mauritius....but i got married earlier this year in Orlando, Florida and it was fantastic!
We stayed in a huge villa with a lovely big pool, and actually got married by the pool. It was so easy to arrange, we did everthing seperately, and couldn't believe how cheap it was! (we weren't trying to do it on the cheap at all, it just turned out that way....thats america for you)
It was great because we had the villa for when we wanted to chill out, and then the theme parks for when we wanted to 'do' stuff.
We originally wanted to get married on a beach somewhere, but everywhere we read about and people we spoke to said it was all a bit coveyor belt style, not very intimate either.
I guess it just depends what you want...
If you want to know anymore, just ask.
Good luck in your search for your perfect destination

Hi Richard, we went for our honeymoon in Barbados. It was fantastic. If you can afford it a Sandals/Beaches resort would be ideal for you. Having said that my mate from Liverpool (Head of Security at Anfield if any one is looking for tickets by the way!!!!) got married in Mauritius and he raved about it. Remember no matter where you go you have to be resident in the country for a length of time, usually just a few days, before you get married.

Hi for the Caribbean try Sandals if you can afford it as the quality is top notch and they give a free wedding package in the price of your holiday as well as upgrading your room etc
They have their own wedding planner who will look after you as soon as you get there and make sure everything is just perfect also Sandals is a 24hr all inclusive resort with premium brand drinks ,food and entertainment .yOU JUST COULDNT HAVE A BETTER PLACE FOR A WEDDING IN ANY OF THEIR RESORTS

Our party of nine attended My Husbands Sister's wedding at the Casa Del Mar in Bayahibe, Dominican Republic in March 2005.
We all booked with Thomson, the service was really good the only down side was that Thomson use Britannia for the flights and they are terrible, food, legroom, attitude etc....
We had previously travelled to the North and stayed at the Viva Wyndham Tangerine which was fantastic. We switched regions to see a bit more of the island and we are glad we did. There is something fantastic about taking your wedding vows overlooking perfectly clear turquoise waters, milky white where they meet the white soft sand..mmmmm!.
Perfect weather, perfect staff, perfect everything. Fantastic wedding photographs taken surrounded by a dazzling array of tropical flowers the likes of which have to be seen to be believed.
My best friend got married some six months earlier at Berjaya Le Morne in Mauritius (just the two of them). She had equally such a good time and her photographs are truly splendid also.
Good Luck in wherever you choose. White sand and blue sea wins every time though!. You will feel on top of the world upon arrival!!.:thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

Try sending a PM to englandfan - she was married in Mauritius.
We're getting married at Legends in Mauritius in October and travelling with Thomas Cook. We were originally going with Virgin but we'd heard very bad things about them and their customer services so had our doubts. Thomas Cook then matched the holiday, reduced the price and gave us the wedding package free so the lot came to a shade under 6k - which I thought was pretty good

If I sometimes get married I would definitely like to marry on Mauritius. I love the island I think the surrounding is wonderful. My perfect wedding would be during a sunset on a white sandy beach. I am of the opinion that this would be so romantic. After the wedding stay on the island for another 14 days to enjoy the honeymoon.
