Help! Dominican Republic or Cuba

Well having just returned on Monday from Cuba ( we stayed in the part where the hurricane had damamged our resort quite badly ) I would definately not recommend Cuba !! The people are not friendly apart from the resort areas and it is still badly in need of a catch up which will happen once relationships are re-instated with the US. Cuba is a country which has through it's own admittiance has closed itself off from imports... meaning that its self reliant on products from its own country (not a bad thing) however if you are competing for more tourism then the standards have to be as high as anywhere else ..they're not or definately werent at our hotel accommodation... my rec would go to Dreams Resort Punta Cana Dominican Republic... it was fantastic and we would definately go back there again ...
