Iberostar Costa Dorada

Has anyone stayed at the Iberostar Costa Dorada in the Dom Rep recently? We are going there in March and most of the write-ups are very good but a couple of reviews are about money etc being stolen from the room safes. Has anyone had that problem and should we be concerned.

My Son and his Wife enjoyed their honeymoon here just 4 months ago, and they loved it. They never heard anything about any difficulties, thefts, complaints etc and have raved about the place so much that my wife & I have booked to go ourselves in August/September of this year. I guess that every hotel has some sort of a problem at some time or other, but I would guess that this one was taken seriously and something done about it. I am still looking forward to it.

We stayed ast the Iberostar, Costa Dorada in the Dom in July 2004.
It was absolutley fab, hotel and staff you couldnt fault. All areas were spotlessly clean. No trouble there when we were over there with money being stolen, best bet is a safe though which are in the rooms.
The food was fab, were were on AI basis and drinks good too. Loads of champers on the AI deal, we just couldnt fault it.
Went on couple of trips, white water rafting, cool and also safari jeep day which was fantastic.
No complaints whatsoever. We will go back one day.
One word of advice, upgrade your seat for flights as you get more leg room which is a necessity on this long flight.

Thanks Helen, friends of ours are going to that hotel in two weeks so they will also give us first hand info. We have actually upgraded because we are going with Thomsons and their new long haul planes with extra legroom don't start until July. However we went to Mexico last year with First Choice and because their economy class seats have good leg room, I don't think I would bother upgrading if I flew with them again, likewise once Thomson's long haul planes are used, I wouldn't pay the extra cost.

We were there from the 29th Jan to 12th Feb2007. it was a really nice Hotel, we didin't have any problems of any kind, the rooms were spacious and clean, the staff could not do enough for you and the restaurants were 1st class. We didn't have any problems with the room safes, in fact we dropped some money on the floor and when we returned to the room the maid had put it on the bed. Don't worry have a great holiday, we did.

hi we did not have any problems with our money in the safe. i had a dvd player with me that was locked in my suitcase.
