When boarding or even sometimes pre-cruise you can register your credit card as a means of settling your on-board account. This means at the end of the cruise the balace is taken off that card, this saves all the bother of waiting in line to pay.
This should be a standard option when booking in.
Some ships you have to register it during the first two days but mostly its done at check-in desk. Note some do not accept Debit cards.

Thanks again Tenpin.
Is it too late now to (change and) go for the all drinks inclusive deal. We sail

Yes I would think you are a bit late for that. Try reception once you get on board, they do sometimes let you change.
