Haven Holidays Perran Sands

Me and my family have just returned from the worst camping holiday ever.We all booked together on the touring park at Perran Sands and was told when we booked that we could all be parked next to each other as we have small children. When we arrived we was informed by a very rude member of staff that this can not be guarenteed, after around half an hour arguing with her because we was parked four spaces away I know that doesnt sound alot but when you have small children running from one tourer to the other.Even the documentation that we were given stated we was on the next pitch to the other family members, the only way we was able to get near to the rest of the family was to down grade from super pitch to hard standing. In which they refused to give us a refund. When my husband went into the receptionist to say that we had moved she then started to laugh and say we can get three pitchs next door to one and other. We then found out the person who was on the pitch we was allocated in the begining on the paperwork booked incorrectly and demanded a hard standing,as this was the only one avaliable they gave it to him and moved us.To add fire to the flame after a few hours we had a knock on the caravan door to our suprice to employees was standing they informed us that the pitches we were on are known to flood and to inform us that they had the sand bags ready. The campsite itself was dirty and the bins overflowing, the enterainment for the children was non existed and the beer was even worse.

Hiya, Sorry your holiday was a let down. I am looking at perran sands for the end of August. Did you see the "yurts". They are the round tents that you can hire from the site and are supposedly "in the sand dunes". If you saw them please tell me what they were like. I'm a bit concerned about all the negative comments! Cheers Alison

They looked all right but if you are taking children and like to go out in the evenings I would not bother. The enterainment for children is non existed and the adult bingo is across the road in anouther complex which no under 18 s are allowed. The adults entertainment is even worse. We as a family have been touring for over 5 years and have NEVER had such a bad experience as what we had when we went there.

just read your comments we have also just returned from perran sands , we stayed in a so called superior plus caravan
this is how they are described on haven website!!!

Experience high levels of comfort and style with a modern and spacious feel in our Superior PLUS.
Furnished to an excellent standard, all our Superior PLUS caravans have gas fire heating in the comfortable lounge with a colour TV and a fully equipped kitchen including a fridge and microwave .
we did not expect to have the mould growing on the curtains and walls in almost every room a rusty pull out bed with rust on the mattress insufficient equipment in the kitchen....

the caravan had mould growing on curtains and walls in every room the pull out bed was rusty and the rust was over the mattress. toenail clippings on window ledge. we had to tighten handles on the three saucepan which all shared one lid unfortunatly that lid only fitted one pan!! we ran out of gas on the 4th night (2 large gas cannisters were attached to caravan so in theory we shouldnt have run out) are electrics blew on the 6th night need i go on and as for the staff in reception they were obviously programmed like robots to repeat themselves when answering you....

May I suggest, even though people have not had much luck in the past, a letter of complaint to head office. The adress is at the bottom of Havens website. The HQ is Bourne Lesuire - their parent which is located in Hemel Hemstead in Hertfordshire
