| Has any one else been to this hotel revently.....i went as a group of 10 adults we were in room 216 initially it was a box room compared to the others. We couldnt open the bathroom door without moving the bed first. Another couplr in the room next door 215 had holes in the floorboards and used the Newquay mags to remind them not to tread on them.
Another couple in room 303 had a shower that couldnt be turned on properly as the decorators put too many tiles and stopped the taps from working.
We had 2 single guys with us and they shared room 222 wich was supposedly the only twin they had, the view was a brick wall, and smelt really badly of damp.
As i said before we did have room 216 we were moved to 205 only to have the shower fall on our heads every time it was turned on, the cold tap came off in our hands, and the wardrobe had so many fresh air stick ups it still didnt mask the smell of damp.
We asked to be MOVED AGAIN AND THIS TIME THE ROOM WAS OKAY JUST!!!!!
the beds around the pool and on the balconies were covered in mould they had obvoiusly been out all winter, and the tables and chairs on the sun deck were rusty and not painted.
For a hotel supposed to be a 3star rating it was more like faulty towers
We as a group spent a lot of money here and we put in a complaint ti the manager mr jones but nearly a month later he has igored us .

| We too could not believe how awful this hotel was. The website is certainly very misleading and I find it very hard to believe that this is a 3 star hotel. We were given a room on the top floor where you couldn't turn around without bashing yourself on furniture. The bed was the worse bed I have ever slept on - when you sat on it it just slid towards the floor. I didn't sleep at all for two nights and I kept asking for a better room. I wasn't given one so in the end was forced to check out early and find somewhere else to stay. I asked for my money back for the night I moved and they advised that 'no-one else has complained about the beds' but that was only the half of it. The whole place is dirty and run down and for the price they charge, I feel that they are really taking people for a ride. We have asked that Mr Jones calls us but I doubt that will happen so I am planning on taking this up with the tourist board. As the person above has said, all the chairs around the terrace are dirty, the breakfast is awful and the windows everywhere are filthy. Someone in an official capacity needs to sort this hotel out. What's more it is expensive - we moved to the far superior bay hotel where we payed the same price for a great room with fantastic breakfast and high quality spa and bar on site. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

| May I suggest that you write to the AA to advise them of the experience you had at this hotel and to ask them to reinspect it. I will be doing the same and if more people took action hotels such as this would not get away with taking people for a ride. You can write to the AA Complaints department at Fanum House, Basingstoke, Hampshire, RG21 4EA and I am told that they will follow this up. We may not be able to get our money back for the awful experience we had but atleast we may be able to prevent other people having the same issues in the future

| thanks for your report, i too am writing to the tourist board about this hotel...we as a group of 10 adults had a really miserable time .Mr Jones has completly ingored our letters and emails. I dont think i will ever get any money back but hopefully something will get done and more people will read these comments before booking this hotel which really should only be a 2*

| I don't believe it should be a 2*. I would say unclassified is nearer the point. I endorse all the points made in the above posts and would also say that when we arrived there was nobody on reception. After 10 minutes I actually telephoned on my mobile to try and draw someone out of the woodwork. In that time a chap had already given up the ghost and gone. We were offered a room with a balcony for an extra £4 a night which as a smoker I gladly took. Bad move because the balcony door didn't locl. Bad move complaining about it because we got into a Fawlty Towers type scenario with two staff members either side pushing and pulling. We were eventually moved to another room but that door was only marginally more secure. Breakfast was bacon, fried eggs, sausages, tinned tomatoes and fried bread. I got lucky and got a bit of everything but my poor partner had finished his breakfast before any bacon and eggs came out. I was shocked when we came in for breakfast that there were unwashed glasses all over the bar from the night before. As a landlady I always wash the glasses up before going to bed as the last thing I want to see in the morning is beer dregs. We paid cash up fron t and were asked for our credit card details as well. I asked why and they told me it was for security. I didn't trust them an inch and told them we didn't own a credit card between us. This place really was the true Fawlty Towers experience.
