Where is good to go for a young couple (22 and 25)?

Me and boyfriend want to go on a summer holiday that is hot with beaches and lively bars and restaurants (but not ruined by 18-30's or touritm) we were recommended croatia and I was just wondering where woud be a good area to stay?
