| We are planning on getting married in Cuba next April and cannot decide whether to go to Cayo Coco - which we have heard is really secluded and great snorkelling at the NH Krystal villas or in Varadero at the Varadero Paridisus and is a bit more lively.
Does anyone have experience of either of these hotels and or getting married in either of these locations? we are looking to take a mixture of fairly adventurous family out there so woul dneed something to keep them occupied othere than hotel based entertainment or is Guadalava the place to go maybe?
Any help appreciated...

| Hi, we have stayed in both Varadero and Cayo Coco. They are both beautiful, but Varadero is easier to travel from, has nightlife out of the hotel and is only an hour by bus to Havana We went to Cayo Coco last year and it is lovely but only hotel entertainment.
Hope this helps

| Hi, I do hope you have a fabulous wedding in Cuba.
In my opinion Cayo Coco has a peaceful beauty and although miles from Havana (indeed from anywhere) it is connected by an 18km causway to the mainland, it would be my choice.
Varadero is about 2.5 hours from Havana unless you fly, it also has good snorkelling and scuba, and beautiful beaches, but to me feels less wholesome and just a tad jaded. There are also nightclubs there (none in Cayo Coco).
Please allow extra for an excursion to Havana. It would be a heinous crime to travel so far and not go. I believe there is a (flight based) excursion.
All Tourist zones in Cuba, are what they say they are (tourist zones) and although this year Cubans with the resources can now stay in Hotels, I recommend Havana for the "Cuban experience".
I have never fancied Guadalavaca so Can't help there I'm afraid.
