Its raining in Cumbria

All to often people complain that it rains in The Lake District and it's pouring down now and has been for the last 24 hours!

But we need the rain to fill the lakes for all the visitors to enjoy.

Anyone coming to Cumbria for a holiday this year?

Where you staying?

We have stopped in The Lakes in March and November several times and the rain never spoils the enjoyment. We have not been this year yet, but would recomend a stay at Acorn House in Keswick and a visit to the local cinema, if it is still open. It is a real 'blast from the past' and nothing like the multi screen venue we see now.

The rain is part of a Lake District holiday. I used to work at Pattinsons Shoe Shop in Keswick many years ago. I remember a Mayday bank holiday when it was throwing it down. There was loads of people walking around in shorts with their backpacks on!!

Thats a good point about the cinema's....Ambleside got an old type of cinema as well. Ahh..days of old!
