Hotel weddings

Im looking at having a hotel wedding in cyprus for next year but can anyone tell me if you have to make a visit to the town hall aswell to sign paperwork. Im a little confused as some sites say this has to be done, but others dont really give the information.
Please help as im new to this and im trying to find out the simple things before i actually book anything.
