Could anyone tell me if the euro is accepted everywhere in cyprus? I heard from a friend the other day who has been told that most places are still using cypriot pounds.

just returned from cyprus the euro is main currency now but you can exchange cyp pounds at any cypriot bank and the exchange rate is cyp�1.00 = 1.71euro which is alot better than sterling exchange so if you have any take them and benefit from the fact cyp� is worth more than the poor sterling take plenty of money as prices have escalated since they joined euro
