I would love to have a look at the northern part of the island whilst Im over on holiday. We have a car booked for our fortnight stay starting this week, and are thinking of traveling into the north for a lookaround, any info on border crossings, restrictions on times for crossing, proceedures etc would be greatfully appretiated.
Thanks, Bordersun

Hello, my parents live over there and I know in the past hire cars weren't allowed across, but that doesn't stop you walking over the border. You will need your travel documents, i.e. passport. things may have changed re hire car, I would suggest you contact you hire car firm. Good luck, when r u going?

Yeh been going over for the past 12 years now, sometimes twice a year, started off with us staying in paphos, had about 7/8 years of holidays there and now slowly moving down the coast Its ****** area again this time (3rd time) not quite the concrete jungle that its getting to be in Paphos, but its starting to grow, it wont be long before we are in a tent at the top of troodos.

Hi we have travelled from south to North a few times your hire car rom south will not get over they do not allow
insurance as well will be void
best way to do is park in nicosia and then walk over at paphos gate then get taxi but make sure you get price for trip and ask a few taxis for price as you will be robbed up if you do not ask first also money take dollars or sterling as many places do not change up euros some do some dont ahd trouble last time with euor exchange you seem to get better rate on sterling over euro
bit different from south side and worht the trip
hope you have fun
