Hi
Anyone have any experience of how to handle this?
We have booked a package deal (flight, transfer, self catering room) to Lindos for 2 people with Olympic Holidays. We deliberately booked a room big enough for 4 and paid the under occupancy...the reason being that our 2 other guests can't make the same flights as they live at opposite ends of the country, but we want them to share the room. (All our bridemaids together). Olympic suggested that we tell the owners that we have extra guests, and pay a fee locally if necessary. I am worried that we might run into problems if the owners don't like the idea...

hi,surely if you have paid under occupancy your ok,under occupancy is the money lost by the hotel by not having 4 guests in the room.
so if you have paid this then i cant see why you would have a problem, they have there money.

My sentiments exactly
Not sure what the deal is with the owners liability/insurance etc if anything was to happen to the extra guests while in the room or on the premises...maybe they need to book them in somehow to register them as guests?? Can't think of any other reason they would mind.

The liability / insurance point is well made. We were chatting to the people running the apartments we were staying at, in Turkey admittedly, but they have to let the police know on a daily basis the number of occupants and their names.
I certainly wouldn't try having additional people stay in the accommodation without the knowledge and agreement of the management. To do so could result in you all being kicked out.

Thanks for the feedback, both. The in-laws are over there in Rhodes now and have sorted this out with the owners. Cheers, enjoy your holidays!!
