Childrens Ages

Postby itsmeuk on Thu Dec 29, 2005 6:00 pm

I made a mistake when putting in my childrens ages when booking online, i put in they were both twelve, just to see what differance a year makes. The price increase is a fair bit. Does anyone actually check that the details that you put in for your kids are correct or would no one actually notice this. Not that i would do that though

To put in the wrong ages just to see the difference in price would be ok, but don't carry it through and book the holiday with the wrong ages, everything has to be the same as the passports..date of birth etc. You could find yourself having big problems.

I know there is a big difference in price if the children are over twelve. However, passports will be checked for date of birth. I think it is a bit unfair that holidays for children under sixteen but over twelve pay full price when they are still a minor.

However, hotels do charge the operators full price for this age group and they have no other option but to pass this cost on to the customer. However, with apartments the charge is for an apartment rather than per person and this can help with the costs for families.

I too think its unfair.... I always thought there are childrens prices because we will not be drinking alcohol etc (which may be a big difference for all inclusive etc) but when they charge the adult price over 12s, do they assume 12 year olds will eat as much as the 40 year olds!?!?

i booked online last year far an all inclusive holiday in Tunisia, and not once was the passport checked against what was booked online.
I know that your kids become adults sometime, but surely not at thirteen.
