Croatia - good choice?

Postby charliecanary on Fri Jul 27, 2007 7:35 pm

We are considering Croatia for our next hols (September 07) and would like to combine beach/snorkelling/relaxing with sightseeing. historical places, mountains, maybe boat trips.
We want to see Dubrovnik, the Dalmation coast and also spend some time in Istria. We prefer to go independently if possible - happy with apartments or (good) hotels. happy to hire a car.
Anyone got any advice on places, currency, driving, language please?
The islands all look good but any suggestions very welcome!
Thanks.

Croatia - good choice?

Im quite interested in going to Croatia mainly in the Pula area of Rovinj or Dubrovinik/cavtat.
I did see some quite cheap flights with Thomson a short while ago.
However saying that , the news today says troops are going to be deployed in Kosovo again, due to trouble over the independance of Kosovo etc.
Not sure its the best time to go.
