| Just a note to warn holiday makers that if they are thinking of letting their children have their hair braided they should think again.
There is a very sad story on Sky news web site with pictures of this lovely 8 year old girl called Jodie , who had her hair braided on holiday in Faliraki recently. Apparantley the braids were wound too tightly and this killed her hair follicles and her hair fell out, and to make matters worse it may not grow back. Just thought I would warn you all because i know what kids are like when they want something. Im really Glad I have said no to this in the past , I would be distraught.

| I read that and it's very sad for her. But she's put on a really brave face about it all!
Does make you think twice about it though.
My daughter had hers done in Florida and spent the following week telling me they all really itched, driving her mad!!
When we had them removed we were told of a similar story to that one.

| My wife's an ex hairdresser, and when our daughter asked the answer was a very firm "NO". The other thing to beware of is the henna tattoos, as they can burn the skin.

| My daughter had henna tatoos, one on each arm. It looked like they had been drawn on her arm with a knife. The marks aren't so visible now, but you can just see them. She had them done 3 years ago.
I think it was a reaction to the henna, I recently done a skin test for a hair dye on her and she had a reaction to that to.
Please make sure that skin tests are done before getting tattoo's.

| Yeah Henna tatoo's is another one I say no too because I know that sometime they mix the stuff with hair dye chemicals. This is what causes the blistering and burning effect.

| To be fair , both my daughters ( ages 6 & 11 ) have had their hair done in Salou & Marmaris and we were lucky enough to have no problems - it actually made shower time at night less hassle cos they both have long hair . But again , maybe we were just lucky .......
