Holiday help - where to go?
Thanks - I did think of that one but wasn't sure if the "unrest" had passed. Do you have experience of any hotels in particular?

Holiday help - where to go?
Waving the flag here for North Cyprus - this lovely country offers everything you are asking for! Plenty of nice restaurants and bars in Kyrenia around the very pretty Venetian harbour. If you like old-world comfort right in the heart of the old town area, stay at the Dome (www.dome-cyprus.com). Finding a peaceul five bstar resort in North Cyprus is a bit of a challenge, as the new mega casino complexes offer amazing facilites and wonderful spas, but at the expense of peace and quiet! You would be better to either go for a self-contained resort such as the Acapulco, for pure r&r with a new spa opened in Sept (2007) with sauna, jacuzzi, Turkish bath and a range of beauty treatments, and take the hotel bus service into Kyrenia.
