Malaga airport to Nerja

Postby vee on Mon Mar 13, 2006 4:02 pm

We want to travel independently to Nerja but have been told its about 100 each way from/to Malaga airport by taxi. The alternative is book through a travel agent and get free transfers, which we dont want to do. Is there a train or bus that goes there?

:hotsun: Hi Vee,
It's dead easy to go by bus from Malaga airport to Nerja. You can catch a bus right outside the arrivals hall and it's a short ride to the terminus where you'll be able to get the Nerja bus. TONS cheaper than a taxi!! :thumleft:

Helloflowerfairy,

Lots Of Nice Hotels In Costa Del Luz, But Do You Know About Transfers From Jerez Airport, We Always Travel Independently, but Its A Long Way To The Hotels, Chichlana Etc., Wonder If I Can Do This From Malaga Instead ... But Oh The Prices Of Flights To Jerez
Very Expensive, Anyone Going To The Costa From Malage Can Also Go Straight From The Terminal Onto The Local Train To All Resorts
1.20 Euros.

As others said, its simple to take the bus from the Arrivals hall, it brings you straight into Nerja, we've been six years running and love it:)

The train is not going to Nerja until around 2012, but the bus service is good, and really cheap (c7 Euro) from Malaga City. The taxis, from experience, are closer to 50-60 each way and the journey is around 35 mins (usually travelling close to the speed of light on the motorway).
Once in Nerja, there is a sightseeing, two coach electric train that can take you around for a look...but it's known as the Wally Tolley by the local ex-pats.
It's a great town, we've been 4-5 times, and the restaurants are good and usually vry reasonable.
