After looking on the website yesterday i found that unbeatable holidays site had disappered! I followed a link to this site (thank god) to discover I had been conned out of £878!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After phoning around I discovered that I was not alone not sure if we get a money back through the credit card agency but wont know until after the due travel date which is 30th august.Im gutted and so are the children. I dont know how these people sleep at night! My mother is a cancer sufferer and is terminally ill , we so needed the break.
I hope that they never operate again and con more people out of there honest hard earned cash!

Patricia.
The credit card company have got to give you your money back (consumer credit act - section 75) and you can claim for this amount NOW by filling in the appropriate credit card company forms.
I was due to fly out on 3 Seotember but should have my credited to my account before that date so can rebook.
There are so many cases of this - and its an obvious fraud as Islington Polioce are currently dealing with this - that they do not need to investigate after your fly out date.

You should now do 7 things.

a) call credit card company and let them know all the info you currently have and what you have done (ie all below) and ask them to stop card and send out forms. They will deal with under consumer credit act. (For others - If paid by debit card ask about the chargeback service.)
b) go to local police station and report
c) call islington police station and report (0207 704 1212)
d) call IGI Insurance and register against all the hundreds of others who ahve done so - just incase they go bancrupt in the end.
e) call trading standards on 08454040506 and register your case there.
f) register a complaint here. http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/complaintformcib.htm
g) keep checking this forum for updates!!!!

Right just to let people know what is happening we received a letter from unbeatable holidays yesterday. They say that they are sorry to say that our holiday has been cancelled because eurobeds2006 has informed them that the accommodation is not available and we will receive a refund?!?!
Has anyone else received a letter? Not sure if its because our credit card company has been on to them or they have just made a complete mess of everything!!

Hi all,
as Chris posted yesterday, we contacted a few journalists yesterday to try and get some media awareness going, and the good news is it's perked the interest of a few national and regional papers.

We've been asked by some to forward the email addresses of some of the posters in this thread, so they can contact you to arrange an interview, which can be given anonymously. We'll contact you by email to confirm whether you'd like to take part in this, and continue to raise the profile of this scam.

It'd be a great help if you could fill out the Location part of your profile found here...

If anyone else has had dealings with these companies, please come forward and let us know your story, the more people affected should increase the coverage in the press, and hopefully go some way to making it simpler to get your money back!

We have booked with sunmedresorts.com and money has been taken from our account for holiday to Majorca. we are supposed to be going on 7th October for a week all inclusive. We booked by debit card. What shall I do? We had a letter confirming holiday and it came with this insurance slip thing too. I am going home at lunch time to get it all (I am at work). Where should I go from here, I cant get hold of sunmed on the phone and there website is no longer working! We have contacted our bank and they have said we have to wait until 10/9 before they can dispute it as non receipt of goods?! Help!

Please go through this thread, there are lots of contact details for you and advice from others in the same situation as yourself, Dont panic the authorities are aware of this as it is a major scam. Your insurance cert you got with your booking should be with IGI there are also contact details for them on this thread, so please ring them and leave all of your details with them, there phone lines may be busy but please keep on trying, they themselves are nothing to do with the fraud so they are doing all they can to help and advise people in your situation, and watch this thread for further updates.

Just received an update from Companies Investigation Branch who I completed a complaints form with.

Dear Miss Shelton,

Further to my message below. Please be advised that this matter is now in the hands of the Police, who have stated that all customers should ring Consumer Direct on 08454 04 05 06 or visit www.consumerdirect.gov.uk and leave details of their claims. We understand that the Police will make contact in due course.

If you paid by credit card you may wish to contact the card supplier and lodge a claim.

Yours sincerely,

xxxx

I have also been conned, due to fly yesterday, got the dreaded letter from UBH Monday morning, lucky we were at home, otherwise ended up in Crete with no accomodation.

I have done most of the stuff recommended on this site, and should eventually get a refund via credit card!

My view is why did they send letters out to people saying sorry, if this was indeed a fraud, conmen with a conscience??

It probably wont help, but commiserations to all and good luck.
