| Anyone looking to book through this company... DO NOT DO IT PLEASE!!!
They are a scam and have taken £1,700 pounds from me and my family.
They also work under the websites unbeatableholidays.com + holidaysforunder200pounds.com.
We received a phone call from Las Dalias in Tenerife literally 20 minutes ago and I had to make sure I warned everyone else before you make the same mistake. Some people have actually turned up at the hotel and the bookings do not exist!!!
If anybody has any other websites that are being operated by these scumbags please post them on here!!:icon_grrs

| I too booked with this company and looks like my family and I have also been conned for £1200.00. But even more so a holiday which the whole family were looking forward to but wont be able to go because if the credit card doesnt come through for us we will be out of pocket and unable to afford a holiday. By the time this gets sorted, kids will be back at school and unable to take them out. WHAT A MESS!!!
No answers on any of the phone lines saying "the mobile phone you have called is switched off", reported it to the police and credit card company so hopefully might be able to recoup my money, fingers crossed!
I just hope they can sleep at night!

| My complaint is with regard to www.unbeatableholidays.com with whom my daughter booked and payed for a holiday to Lanzarote, due to fly out this coming Thursday, 17th August 2006.
They appear to have left the premises listed on their web-site (under Terms of Use) and have their phone 020 7253 7141 diverted to a MOBILE which is "not available......." !
Seeing previous threads have linked sunmedresorts to unbeatableholidays, I have just 'phoned "sunmedresorts" on 0870 330 4392, the number from their web-site www.sunmedresorts.com, and the lady who answered the 'phone denied any connection to unbeatableholidays.com. Puzzling ?
It looks, at the moment, as though my daughter has lost her money AND her holiday !!!!!

| My mum has been on the phone for 2 hours this morning to trading standards, her credit card company and marylbone police. It seems highly likely that if you paid by credit card under section 75 of the 1974 Act you should be reimbursed as unbeatable holidays (and the other names of the company) have breached their contract.
Not sure if they are a complete scam but it does appear that they are hiding something otherwise they would answer the phone!
Marylbone police do not seem interested at this stage but I think if enough people ring them it should make a difference. They did say to contact your local police or Citizens Advice Bureau.
Marylbone Police Station - 020 7486 1212
Trading Standards - 08454 040506
I will keep you posted on any changes and if anyone else comes up with anything please add it on here.

| John H, has your daughter received her travel documents?
I am struggling with credit card company because they will only issue a claim once the holiday date has passed. Also, if in fact I receive flight tickets then knowing that I do not have a hotel to go to I will be liable for the costs of the flights?
It is a mess! The company that you mentioned sunmedrestorts.com is so obviouslt the same company, same hotels and the holding company is Orange ........ on both sites, the admin dept on both are contactable on 0701 421 ....! But speaking to the office on sunmedresorts.com, they deny all knowledge.
I cannot believe that I have been suckered into this! People should be warned and warned quickly as I looked for bad reoprts on this company before booking and couldnt find any negative forums.........UNTIL NOW!!

| Hi Gary68, the only reason you wouldn't have found anything on this before was because this has only come to light on friday when we received the call from the hotel we were staying at. They told us how tourists have been turning up and then being told they can't stay unless they pay their rates.
The lady with have dealt with at Las Dalias, Tenerife has been very helpful though and she did say that unbeatable holidays hadn't even charged half the amount that they should!!

| OK I have a quick look about and I can't offer a solution but I can offer some info that may help.
Firstly this 'scam' is very similar to one earlier last year involving happyholiday4u.com in this case it was eventually taken on by someone at the Met Police. Details in this post:
http://www.holidaywatchdog.com/forum/showpost.php?p=19297&postcount=40
I have had a look at the domains and they are registered in the states.
Use this form to search the domain names and you will see the owner info. http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jsp
Looks like the same person.
Might be worth contacting their website hosts and get the sites removed - if you can. Details of company holding the websites is:
http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/arin-details.jsp?whoistoken=2&parenttoken=3
Will have another look around and see what I can dig up.

| Oh dear, so many unfortunate would be travellers !!!!
In reply to Gary.......No, we have no travel documents yet, that was the main reason why I was asked by my daughter to try and contact unbeatableholidays.com.
But alas, I have found a very disturbing and costly mess.

| Thanks HW The Dog, I've sent an e-mail to Network Solutions via their web-site, warning them of possible fraudulent dealings by their client.
Additionally, if one compares the "Financial Guarentee" and "Terms of Use" sections from both of the web-sites in question you will find that they are very, very nearly the same. Except that on the unbeatableholidays.com site under 9 Complaints Procedure, reference is made to a UK (mobile) 'phone number +44 701421 2787 which surprise, surprise is "not available to take your call...." Could this be the same mobile to which their main 'phone number is diverted ?????
I'd love to know who owns that mobile !!!!!

| I have been speaking to police, credit card company, trading standards, the hotel and even called sunmedresorts.com myself although my problem is with unbeatableholidays.com and I dont know whether to scream or hang myself!!
The girl gave me an address that they are operating our of. 48 Great Eastern Street, I phoned the local police station, guess what, not interested told me to call my local police station which I have already done, WHY DOESNT ANYONE CARE!!!
The credit card company will not act until the holiday date passes, I have also been told that as a "good will gesture!" they will freeze the amount on my bill and not charge me interest, bless them! When I explained what if I get flight tickets, knowing full well that a hotel is not booked, the lady told me they would claim for the hotel, so am I expected to travel to Lanzarote knowing full well that there is no hotel room!
I feel like I am going round and round in circles and really going nowhere! This forum is my only solitude!!
can anyone lend me a fiver!!

| If you haven't already done so, I suggest that you check with your intended airline, to be SURE that you do actually have a FULLY PAYED seat/s on their plane.
Sorry to hear that you're getting nowhere with "normal channels", perhaps the newspapers would be interested to hear how unhelpful everyone has been !
Particularly the Police, as they encourage public feedback on "dodgy dealings".
Is it any coincidence that there has been a heightened terrorist alert since these companies have "done a runner" ?????? What if they were being used to "launder" money out of UK ?????
In any event, it is so very disappointing to feel that no one is prepared to take any action against these criminals.

It may be the address of an office building. I will try to find out more

| Hi JanC, for information the address details for both companies is as follows :-
sunmedresorts.com is a Trading Name of SunOrient Limited at 48 Great Eastern Street, London EC2A 3EP and is registered at Companies House as no. 5632520.
unbeatableholidays.com is a Trading name of Orange Sun Limited at Suite 212, 137-149, Goswell Road, London EC1V 7ET and is registered at Companies House as no. 5637840.
Hope this helps, although my daughter contacted the landlord of 137-149 Goswell Road and was told that unbeatable holidays.com had vacated the building.

| not sure we want to start the hype of terrorist activity!
I would just like for someone to actually do something to stop these people ripping innocent people off!
Hopefully I am protected by paying by credit card. From the knowledge I have gained today at how all this works, anyone that has paid by credit card, if you receive no travel documents then you are covered. You need to claim against the credit card company.
If you have trouble with the credit card company then contact the Finance Ombudsman who are about the only people today that have been extremely helpful and are always a back up if you do not get anywhere with your credit card company.
Make sure you do get a crime reference from your "local" police station and also make sure you keep a note of all correspondance and phone calls to credit card companies, holiday insurance and anyone else, from what I understand you will need ALL this information. Nothing is ever easy when it comes to the corporates cashing out!
Good luck everyone and I sincerley hope that everyone resolves their issues and dont end up out of pocket? I am gutted not to be going on holiday and so are my kids but..........LESSON LEARNT for me "never buy on internet!" and IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.........IT PROBABLY IS!

| Sun Orient have applied to ATOL for a licence, ATOL states these facts about travel cover.
ATOL" is a protection scheme for flights and air holidays, managed by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Most firms who sell air travel in the UK are required by law to hold a licence called an "ATOL".
This company is NOT ATOL covered but you can still contact ATOL on
020 7453 6424
For consumer advice, and please let them know that this company has applied to ATOL but not been passed as yet.
I really hope all of this helps some people.
Jan :)
It is OK to book on the net with reputable companies who advertise ABTA and ATOL,( you can check and verify this yourself ) Holidays are increasingly becoming the domain of the quick scammers and it leaves people devastated, If your in any doubt, DONT PART WITH MONEY..
