Dominican Porta Plata - Malaria

I am going to Dominica in October and am worried about taking malaria tablets, Can anyone advise. Thanks for any replies

Please advise if you took malaria tablets when you visited the Dominican. I have only received 1 reply. Please help going on 16th October 2005. Thanks

we went to dom rep last year.
go to the nurse at your doctors, she will tell yo the best ones to take, we used chloraquin....not sure if i spelt that right.
you start taking them the week before you go and i think you take them up to two weeks after your return

Hi Jackie,
i went to the riu merengue last november.
we were advised that we only needed malaria tablets if we were planning to travel inland.
We really loved this hotel, even though it poured with rain for most of our fortnight!
we were lucky and had no stomach problems, i hope this has cleared before your visit.
