Luxour or Cairo

A friend said that Cairo isnt that nice so im in two minds what to do!!!

What would people recommend? Ild rather do both but cant afford to any advice would be great.

Well i have been to Cairo twice and Luxor four times. There really is no clear cut answer. I had a fantastic time in both places. Most people when you mention egypt think of the Pyramids so if you want to see them , the sphinx and Cairo museum with so many items in there (King Tut's items are fantastic) then you must do cairo. If however you want to see the tombs of the great pharoah's and the amazing temples then you must go to Luxor. I think I left my heart in Luxor!

WE let the children choose the holiday as they wanted to see the pyrimids. I would prefure it Luxour I think. but ill be happy with either

We went to Cairo from Sharm el Sheikh in May on a organised trip for �160 each including coach travel, we had a excellant guide who took us to the pyramids, sphinx, Museum,Hard rock cafe in cairo for lunch.
It was a very long day but well worth the money,Cairo is a filthy place but do not let it put you off going.
