Nicest resorts in Red Sea
We are a couple (early 50's) planning Red Sea hol in Nov/Dec late booking. Could anybody give some info on the "nicest" areas - our personal taste is for quieter, relaxing area, nice comfortable hotel with spa & relaxation facilities, nice locality where we'd be able to stroll in evenings - not commercial and not bustling. Sharm and Hurghada seem to be quite built up, but are there quiet parts? Anyone been to Taba Heights, thinking of the Marriott Beach hotel there.

Hi,We went to Makadi Bay 2 years ago in December and stayed at the Sunrise Royal Makadi Bay hotel. You fly into Hurghada. It was in a great situation on the beach which was ideal for snorkelling. You could stroll along the path parallel to the beach or around the hotel grounds in the evening. It was not commercialised and was peaceful and quiet. The resort is made up of luxury hotels and a small harbour area. There were boat trips from the nearby pier and other trips could also be arranged. The weather was very good too - sunny and warm in the day but a bit cool at night. The food was excellent and the all inclusive was 24hrs a day. I have been to Sharm and Luxor too but not Taba so cannot comment on there.

Nicest resorts in Red Sea
I went to Taba Heights 2 years a go and took my Father, then 78 years old. We had a wonderful time at the Hyatt Hotel, the location was very quiet, and peaceful. We went in August so it was really hot, but being water lovers we were happy to spend all day in the lagoon, sea or one of the three pools.
I would suggest upgrading to sea view room, our room within the gardens tended to be dark and I think the balcony sea view rooms are nicer. The food was very good, and on HB we were more than satisfied. Due to the heat we did not venture out on any trips and with snorkelling, swimming we really had full days within the hotel. The evening options were ok, did not really suit my Dad but a G&T by the pool bar was fine with me!
I cannot say I rated the spa facilities but these may have improved since my visit. As for evening strolls, - it was limited as to where and how far you could go in the evenings, but hopefully this may have changed. I looked round the grounds of the Marriott but due to the lagoon access, preferred the Hyatt.
