Underwater Cameras
Hi Andy
Yes I have some advice, Dont pay out lots of cash for one, We bought 2 underwater disposable cameras in Turkey they were 4 each and the piccys are stunning.
Cheap and cheerful if you only will use them once or twice a year.

Depends what you want out of your underwater photography, how much you are prepared to spend and how much you know about photography.
If you want to take a few nice, pretty, but ultimately low quality pics when you are snorkelling then waterproof disposables are ok - you won't be able to take them diving with you though - they tend to implode at about 5m / 15ft.
If you already have a digital camera, it might be worth getting in touch with www.camerasunderwater.co.uk and asking them if there is a dedicated underwater housing available for it - these can cost between 100 and 300 - if you don't have a digicam but you just want some nice underwater snaps then this is probably the best route for you - the Olympus 5050 with a housing is very popular with divers and you can get a housing for about 150.
If you prefer 35mm film, know a bit about apertures, shutter speeds, films speeds and field depths and are after something closer to professional results have a look around on Ebay for cameras like the Sea & Sea Motormarine II, or the Nikonos V - you can pick up a motormarine with a big underwater flash unit and a set of lenses on ebay for a s little as 250 - the Nikonos V will set you back closer to 500 but it is bona fide professional quality kit.
I use a motormarine and here's some of the results you can expect once you get used to using it:
