We were lucky enough to take part in a Ghost Hunt at the Golden Fleece in York last night,
The golden fleece pub dates back to 1503 and is reputedly the most haunted pub in the UK.This is an organised event taking place every couple of months, It starts at 9pm and lasts until 6am in the morning, There were about 20 of us and 3 spirit mediums.First you are told the history of the place and its so called spirit occupants,
It was a very eventful night with lots of very strange happenings, including my daughter getting finger marks on her neck ( never touched her honest ) alot of the experiments were done with the lights on so we could see that there was no-one messing making things happen on purpous. It was a very enlightening experience, I would do it again, but would never ever book a room and stay in that place. I can honestly say that I do agree that it has to be the most haunted pub in the UK.
If you want a weekend break with a difference I really recommend this. :)

( sorry Techie didnt know which category this goes in,, Can we make one for experience breaks please ? )

Hi Jan,
Sounds like you had a good night out. Pat and I had a lunch time drink in the Fleece during one of our many coach trips, York was just a very short stop-off and we always said we would go back to visit this City, as of yet not done that. English Cities have got a lot to offer, but with the cost of a week in the sun being about the same, its no contest. The 'old wrinklies' coach trips are helping, as are the big hotel chains who offer weekend deals, and we are now considering taking up some of these deals, to explore this wonderful Country of ours.

York is a beautiful city with so many historic places to visit, We actually got lost there last night trying to find the golden fleece, so was saw a bit more than we had bargained for, :)
Worth a day or even 2 days out.

I hate to agree with Jan, but a few years ago now, I went to a cookery weekend in Hants. Its really was the bees knees and learnt a great deal.

This is a reply to the person who got promised a DVD of the night. I went on a ghost hunt evening at the Golden Fleece (which really was a fantastic experiance) and was told we would get a DVD but as of yet were still waiting. We went in June 2008. So not holding my breath to get it now.
