Haven't been for a while, but have been three or four times. Something for a young couple to do? Depends what the interests of the young couple are! The Peak District has spectacular wild, hilly scenery, beautiful rivers and woods and so on; it's loved by rock-climbers and hill-walkers, but it isn't top of the nightspot league! However, compared to other places with similar scenery it's more accessible: there are plenty of well-marked walks, small towns with specialist shops, pubs and suchlike. Whitewater rafting isn't my thing, but I know it is available and no doubt other organised outdoor stuff. Plenty of friendly, historic pubs many of which do accommodation and decent food, but there are campsites too.
