Somewhere nice in North West!

Hi all,

I wonder if anyone can suggest somewhere nice to go for a few days in the north west as we are off for a week at the end of May and we are a little stuck. If anyone can help then it would be much appreciated. We are hoping to go away for 3-4 nights and doesn't have to be a weekend.

Thanks. :-)

How about Cumbria or is that too far north?

Hi Iain, I guess this time we would like to stay a little closer as we live in Manchester.. If you can think of anywhere else that would be good then let me know. Some one from work mentioned that Derbyshire is meant to be nice.

Come on up to Carlisle....two hours drive north of Manchester.

Great shopping centre
BIG castle
Fantastic scenery all around
Hadrians Wall
Gretna Green and Scotland just 10 miles up the road! (Should you feel the need)
Some lovely hotels
Easy easy access from the M6
And loads of other things to do.......

.......like buying me a drink whilst your here...hehe
