York weekend

Hi

I will be visiting York to visit the open day at the university at the bdgining of Juy, just wondered if anyone had any information on best place to stay for overnight that would not be too far away from the uni, will be driving but would like not to have a long drive there in the morning, all suggestions gratefully received.

We stayed at the Queens Hotel right in the centre of York last December, it has its own small car park underneath and it would be no more than 10 minutes drive to the University. York in July is very expensive, too many tourists of course, if you are trying to save money, have a look at Travelodg or Premier Travel Inn type properties on the outskirts, not fancy but if money is important, they will provide a decent bed for the night
