I suggest that you buy a Octopus Card from the train station. It allows you to load it with any amount you choose and allows you ride the trains, ferries and buses by simply swiping the card at the card reader. It automatically deducts the fare and is a great time saver. Also buses require exact fare as no change is given. At the end of your stay you return the card to the kiosk for a refund including any unspent money. A great trip to do is to Lantau Island to Ngong Ping Village where you can also visit the monastery and climb the steps to the giant Buddha. You can get a nice cheap lunch there too. Take a 50min ferry to Lantau Island then catch the No 2 bus up to Ngong Ping Village and monastery. Ride the 360 cable car back down to catch the MTR back to the city.Or you can get the MTR to Tung Chung and get a bus up which is quicker but not as much fun.Check out the Viator site for more ideas then go as you please and DIY. You can't do everything in 2 days but whatever you decide to do I'm sure you'll have a fab time in Hong Kong.
