Advanced warning folks of Hand luggage monitoring at Gatwick commencing very soon.

At the moment its only about the size of hand luggage, but quantity restrictions will be introduced at some point later.

We've all seen passengers with rather larger than average hand luggage struggling to fit it in the overhead locker, now , if it does not fit in the gauge prior to reaching security, you will be sent back to check it in.

Save yourself time by using the gauge before you check your suitcase in.
This initiative has been a long time coming and is introduced by BAA Security in agreement with airlines and is aimed at speeding up those security queue's.

I was at Gatwick booking in with First Choice four weeks' ago and they use the hand luggage gauge on their check in desk now, and they were quite strict about it.
