Oasis Airlines announced today in Hong Kong that it was going into liquidation. It serviced H.K. to Gatwick and H.K. to Vancouver. Cathay have said that they will assist stranded passengers. This makes 6 airlines ceasing operations in the last week. Who will be next? Perthboy

Hahaha. I knew it wouldnt last. The airline was only making tiny bits of profit and never had a good long haul product. They sourced the cheapest aircraft which have been run into the ground and had a lot of negative feedback. Be gone with you, i wont be shedding any tears

Aloha air now that rings a bell, is that the airline where a bloke got sucked into the propellers when the door burst off or something, I think it could have been the one im thinking of from Aircrash Investigation?

The hostie got sucked out when the plane suffered structual failure and part of the forward/middle roof blew off on approach. She was doing final cabin checks and luckily all pax were belted in for landing. Not as horrific as getting sucked into propellers as it was a jet engined aircraft and she went up up and away instead of sideways. Body was never located i dont think.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news again but there is more trouble in the industry.
CHAMPION AIR. Will cease operating on the 31st May. Says it has enough money to pay its creditors. It is operating 14 Boeing 727 (fuel guzzlers) . It has 550 staff and operating out of Minnesota.
ADAM AIR. Has been grounded in Indonesia by the Aviation Authority. Has a bad record for breakdowns and now crashes. Owes money for fuel which it has not paid. Second largest Airline in Indonesia behind Garuda. I would not let them carry my suitcases!!!!!!
Perhaps John would like to run a sweep on the next one to go. In America they think that Delta could be in trouble Frontier the same, Virgin America is not getting the numbers. Europe also has problems but you would know better than me. Asia and Australasia stable. Perthboy

Delta filed for chapter 11 so many times its hard to count...i think they will last a while as they have a lot of backing..but the consumer is getting irritated. Its your small carriers that are fading fast. Even in the UK Jet2 have got a very trying year ahead.
Adam air brings great news as they have been officially proven as unsafe, but the indonesian authorities allowed them to fly due to different regulations in that country.
Their maintenance was incredibly poor resulting in the incidents and crashes, and the crew hate to work on them. Each time a plane lands safely is a miracle.
Champion air..damn i thought they had ceased a long time ago. Looks like some 727's will be heading to Mojave then, as they are neither use nor ornamant now fuel is way over $100 a barrel.
I reckon one from the USA, particularly Frontier will go next as they should be filing for chapter 11. I dont reckon virgin america will last too long..look at SRB's jaunt with virgin sun that was here and gone.
I havent been really keeping as up to date as i should with it all, but its dog eat dog in the aviation world..only the big boys survive...the rest face a struggle to see if they can make it. This is why a lot of LCC's dont make it past a year as the finances are all to ******.

Now Oasis Airlines hve said that no buyer has been found for the airline so its going into liquidation for definite now, with a loss of about 700 jobs.
