ryanair now fly to Parma this is in Italy and nowhere near any coast or holiday resort please do not make the mistake I made by booking late at night and thinking this was Palma majorca because Ryanair will not allow you to change your booking and will charge you the cost of your flight to cancel. They might be cheap but they do stick to their booking conditions and WILL NOT refund any bookings made in error. LOW COST NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT.

Re. Flight cancellations in Spain OCt.05
My husband and I had a super holiday in Spain but getting home was a nightmare. The French Air Traffic controllers went on strike and RYANAIR cancelled all flights out of Girona airport on 4/10/05. There was utter chaos and they offered us a flight from Girona on Friday 7th. The only other option was a flight from Reus the next evening. We took the Reus flight option but no-one explained how to get there. We were lucky we had credit cards and travellers cheques because some people had nothing and RYANAIR offered no help. We got very lost trying to get to Reus as the fact they call it Barcelona Reus is confusing. We ended up using 2 taxis, 2 trains and a bus and spending the night in a hotel and getting lost on a train ( missed our station) and nearly getting off in what one young man called bandit country and stopped us getting off much to our relief. After a hairy taxi ride we got to check in with about 2 minutes to spare. The memory of that lovely holiday will always be spoilt by our nightmare journey home. RYANAIR only seem to be interested in your money and not your safety.

She was one of the last to board it was a hell of a job for her and other passengers finding room in the lockers for their hand luggage - the stewardess was going from one end of the plane to the other looking for space.
Obviously Ryanair hasn't thought through the consequences of this decision.:thumbdow:

Don't like the sound of that
We're using RyanAir for the 1st time in September to fly to Limoges, but as we booked before 16 March, SHOULD be able to use the old luggage allowance ?? But have already ditched our heavy-fame trolley cases and replaced with lightweight rip-stop trolley cases.
I don't like this new policy regarding luggage - because of the arthritis in my wrists & hubby's bad back, prefer to pack everything in the big cases, get
shot of them at Checkin, and just have lightweight hand luggage for carrying essentials and my camera.
Will see how we get on.

I fly with Ryanair quite a lot but only because they go to one of my favourite places, Granada.
On the 12th april I flew with them. The amount of people with extra large hand luggage was just a nightmare. There was no room in the overhead storage because everyone had supersized their hand luggage!!!! The new deal with baggage is an absoloute waste of space!!! (so to speak!)
A couple who had purposely not brought their suitcase were told that they would board before people with checked in suitcases. Yes you guessed it they weren't. No good changing the policies if they can't be bothered to train the staff to follow it.
The boarding of the flights is always a pain in the ass anyway with everyone scrambling to get a seat. Why don't they just call out in blocks of 30 instead of 1-90 then 91 onwards. Absoloute stupid way of getting people on board. It is not any quicker to do it this way as everyone clogs up the person checking the boarding cards and passports.
I wish Easyjet would fly to Granada from my local airport because I find they are more efficient on everything and I would definitely go with them.
Ryanair desperately need to listen to their customers because in the end they will lose them no matter how cheap their flights are.

I flew with Ryanair for the first time in March from Stansted to Toulon and much to my relief everything went perfectly in both directions. As I was only going for a week the 15 kg luggage allowance was no problem, but I also borrowed an extremely light nylon holdall from my daughter-in-law to take any excess on the way back.
Check-in and boarding were a breeze and I would have no hesitation in flying with them again.

I watched a documentary a while back on Ryan air & through the mouth of the piolets, they informed the undercover camera that they DO NOT check or care if there is NOT a safety flight jacket under every passengers chair! The capatin said that if you pay 1p for a flight to dublin, what more could you expect! NO WAY are any of my family ever flying again with them! YES I would rather pay triple the price of a ticket & be a lot safer!
