Inside information on Airlines and Airports. Had a bad flight? Tell the world!

The new Airbus A380 superjumbo will land at Manchester Airport for the first time on Saturday as part of a flight around the North West. The giant aircraft will perform a standard approach into the airport at 13:20 before heading to Liverpool.

The aircraft is likely to draw big crowds to the airport, with people keen to catch a glimpse of the double decker plane. Vantage points include the top levels of the Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 car parks as well as the Aviation Viewing Park, which are all likely to be busy.

Oooh goodie im back at 11:45. Think ill go over to the end of runway 25R or southside depending on the wind. Failing that, ill use the staff car park as its next to the freight/remote stands where it should be parking as no alterations have been made to any airbridges as yet.

Are you sure this is right? Im thought they originally said it wouldn't stop at Manchester as it wasn't a big enough airport before?
I thought it was only going to use Heathrow in the uk?

Anyway most flights fly over my house on the way to the airport so I will probably see it (and hear it) , hope its quieter than the other jumbo's!

A source of Mine (nice aviation photographer) has told it me it will be a fly past only and not be landing? Something about maybe a ILS /missed approach????
Apparently it will land sometime in August at the airport. He also said probably 23R.

Manch is big enough runway wise, but it cant use any gates as the airbridges and stand work hasnt been completed. Ive heard it will land a while ago but nothing confirmed. If it does it will have to park on remote and disembark from the lower deck only. If it ops it will be operated on the singapore route, possibly LHR-MAN-SIN, but i couldnt understand that logic as it makes a 11-13hr flight a lot longer. Still a missed is good for photos if nothing more.

It went missed and climbed out up high again. I made it 13:21 when it was over the threshold and over 23R
