No they were very popular for that reason being cheaper, I cant imagine they would have purposely sold flights cheaper than they could afford too.
I think everything just came at once , oil price increases, airport charges increases and air traffic control fee's. Maybe if they had been given help or assistance from the government like Alitalia is receiving at the moment then they would still be going. I wonder who has helped Alitalia? the Italian Government or the Eu which we also pay into?
If its the Eu then Zoom should have got the same help.

Zoom's aircraft are registered in canada, where the main HQ is. Therefore funding has to come from canada. The canadians are more bothered about Air Canada as its the national airline. Like we would be more bothered about BA.
If you read the press statement from zoom it says that due to the number of prebooked tickets then the rise in fuel prices they couldnt recover the costs. Then creditors wanted their money too.

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone that had booked a flight with Zoom airlines can recall the name of the insurance company that provided insurance in case a flight did not fly – this was on the zoom website and was offered at the time of booking.

I opted to buy insurance with my flight booking however after zoom went under I checked all my flight details and cannot find the name of the insurance company.

As I booked with a debit card I cannot get any money back for my flights without first of all contacting the insurance company – which is proving VERY difficult.

I’d appreciate any help.

THANK-YOU!!
