I have just come back from Dalaman on one of Thomas Cooks 767's.
It was cramped, I was had an ailse seat on a slight corner so the cabin crew kept wacking me with the trolley as they turned the corner with the trolley, I am 6'2 so very uncomfortable. The arm rests didnt go up, and the arms of the chairs were all cracked and worn.
On take off the engines sounded like a moped, and seemed to take ages for us to climb and level out.

Returned from Dalaman on Monday in one of TC's wonderful 757's. Thankfully we had booked the extra legroom seats, but they were still the narrowest seats I have ever travelled in. I'm just about 6' with a 40" waist so although not exactly streamlined, there were much larger people than me on the flight. I don't know how they actually got into the seats let alone put up with them for a 4 hour flight.
The only was I could get comfortable was to raise the armrest between the seats. We've flown Monarch and First Choice in the past year and not had similar problems on either.
Chatting to one of the cabin crew and he said they get complaints on every flight about the seating.

You're lucky you weren't on the 767, the arm rests didnt go up, and the seats were very narrow. It was a nightmare flight and really felt and sounded like it was strugling to take off.

Leg room was acceptable - no different from any other airline I have travelled with really. But if I was 6ft 7 I would have been very uncomfortable. Definitly worth paying for the extra leg room.
However a word of warning about excess baggage problems.
I recently had a bad experience traveling back from the Canaries with Thomas Cook Airlines. The flight was delayed and it had been a long hot day so I was knackered. When we checked in we put our hold baggage onto the scales and then were asked to put our hand luggage on aswell. We had never been asked to do this before but never really through about it so went ahead.
We were told we were 6kg over our limit. This was a surprise but then we remembered that our water bottles were in our hand luggage. If a pair of jeans weighs 1kg then these water bottles (both over half full)would have been easily over 6kg. Obviously we could not take these on the plane (security reasons) so explained this. But the check in agent would hear none of it. We were then told that it was our hold luggage that was over the limit and were offered to take out some weight, which we accepted. 10 minutes later we were told that it was impossible to retrieve our bags. We were charged nearly 50 for this, despite the fact that we got on the plane under the baggage limit (weighed when got back to UK).
It is ridiculous to weigh the hand luggage in this way. We could have bought 20 kg of duty free once we had checked in and no one would have batted an eye!!
