| What would be ideal for a families first trip to florida ?
A) A hotel on either Lake Buena Vista or I Drive with shuttle transport provided so you dont have to drive and pay to park everyday, with a communal pool.(Comfort Inn LBV or Rodeway)
B) A condo or apartments with facillities similar to villas but without a private pool. (LBV resort village/Bahama Bay sort of thing)
C) A complex of close Villa style condos ie Villas of Somerset or Coral Cay with a small villa but communal pool.
D) A large private villa with own pool .
There so many villa resorts though I dont know which is best.
I have seen a map with all the hotels/villas etc but its all so confusing I dont know what is best.
Please pass on your thoughts and experiences.

| Basically I mean do you need just a bed to sleep and somewhere to wash or do you need space to move .There is five of us ie 2 Adults and 3 kids.Which will probaly mean 4 cases and hand luggage to get in somewhere too.

| I guess it depends on how you plan to spend your days.
Are you are likely to be up and out early, returning in the evening to collapse into bed?
Or are you going to spend alternate days relaxing by the pool.
Also, do you want to spend your time waiting for or on shuttle buses, or have the freedom of driving directly to where you want to go, when you want to.
On our first visit we stayed in a villa in a complex on the 192, last time we stayed at the Marriott Village in LBV. Both times we had a car, but the location of the Marriott Village was excellent, mid way between the Disney parks and Seaworld/Aquatica/Discovery Cove.
I guess it could also depend on how old the children are. Younger children (and some older children) will be tired at the end of a long day in the park - will they want to be waiting for a bus then?
I know this hasn't answered your question but this is one of those holidays with SO many different options, and everyone has different requirements.

| So Jackie are you saying you preferred the apartment inn LBV compared to the private villa because it was central then?
Did you find the villa lonely and secluded and worry about it being broken into ?

| Sorry Honey bunny ive only just come back on here. yes I liked the look of the stonebridge one because it was more central, it depends what you want really, something central or more private, have you persuaded your other half to go then?

| Hi Honey Bunny
We did prefer the Marriott Village, the location was brilliant and the accomodation was clean and comfortable.
We didn't dislike the villa, and weren't isolated or worried about security but the location wasn't as good and it took longer to get to the parks which meant we either had to leave even earlier or didn't arrive until after park opening when the queues were already starting to form and that we spent more time in the car, only about 10-15 minutes each way, but that half an hour a day adds up to 7 hours (almost a whole day!) over a fortnight. In addition we didn't feel that we spent enough time at the villa to justify the additional expense.
Hope this helps.
If you want to know anything else, just ask.

| Regarding the driving, the first time we went I was a bit worried but it was MUCH easier than we had expected. The theme parks are all well signposted and the area is well set up for tourists! The main routes are easy to find, and roads are marked with guiding white lines to follow at junctions. The roads are wider and much less congested than what we are used to.
