Balmoral Miami to Rome April 08

Hi to everyone, just booked this cruise and looking forward to experiencing the pleasures of A fred Olsen Cruise. Slightly alterered the route now but really looking forward to the trip. Anyone else on this cruise? Can anyone tell me who they think the airline will be. We are flying from Manchester. Looking forward to hearing other reviews for this ship when it goes into service!!!.

Fred olsen mainly charter an aircraft from Britannia ..or as of now Thomsonfly/TuiFly. That can easily change though and it could be any airline so i cant say for sure.

I'm not on your trip. But am flying from Manchester to join Balmoral in Miami on 13 March .... not got the flight info yet, but am pretty sure it is thomsonfly

Hello - my first visit to this site - and straight away I spot someone I might get to meet! We are going from Manchester 14 April on the Balmoral - can't wait! We booked nearly a year ago now (for our 25th wedding anniversary) and got a good early booking discount. BUt right now they are offering some amazing deals on suites. I rang to see what could be done, and got a complimentary upgrade from Superior Balcony cabin to Superior Suite - AND on-board spend, too! Why not give Fred Olsen a call and see if you can sort out an upgrade too - there are clearly good cabins to spare. I have searched the net but can't find any photos of the refurbished ship - surprised Fred Olsen don't want to show it off! Still, we've previously enjoyed the Braemar, and a similar homecoming cruise with Thomsons, so I'm certain we'll have a good time.

Hi Not Poppy, thanks for the tip of ringing Fred Olsen. We are a little bit disappointed that 7 days after booking, the cruise was reduced in price quite dramatically. Have contacted my booking agent, who contacted Fred Olsen and I have been told that as this was a "Captains Choice" what ever that means, there are no reductions. We did get an oboard allowance at the time of booking, but I have written to "Fred" to seek an upgrade????? fingers crossed. . We have not cruised with Fred Olsen before, but at present feel a bit let down. See you at the airport.
