Just got home from Benidorm, we had one bad day last Sunday when it rained stair rods. Since then it's been very very hot. Even over night it never went below 24c. One afternoon the temperature showed 39c.

For anyone travelling to Benidorm, we have a lovely place to eat. Calumby's cafe. Paul and Lousie from Stranraer run it and make everyone so welcome.

I also have the phone number if anyone needs a taxi transfer from Alicante. It's an 8 seater and licenced. He is much cheaper than many other taxi's.
I'll leave a review of our hotel on the Benidorm site.

I love my hols, but I'm also glad to be home, I like a drink of course. But get fed up of drinking day and night.

Thanks Tom, Yes, I enjoyed the break. Though I wasn't too well on Thursday, but it was probably my own fault. I often tell people the pitfalls of eating nuts given with drinks. I ate plenty on Wednesday night and had a few to drink with them. Couldn't face food or drink on Thursday, but by Friday was fine again.
I think the heat got to me too, after a few hours in the sun I started going dizzy. Maybe I'm not quite as young as I used to be and I cant stick it as much as I used to.
Cest la vie!!

Hey Ron. talking about eating peanuts. in Manchester a couple of years ago. they did a test. on a well known hotel. where they leave their salted peanuts out. on the bar . for people to eat. meaning they will get thirsty and drink more alcohol.. after doing tests. they found over 9 different types of urine on these peanuts. where i take it they meant Men. have been for a pee. not washed their hands. and then gone to the bar. and put their hands in the bowls for some peanuts. leaving their germs on the peanuts.

MAKES YOU THINK DOESN.T IT. WHEN GRABBING PEANUTS OUT OF A BOWL, AT THE BAR.... NEVER AGAIN

Not just the nuts, when you order a drink and its bottled, think about where it has been stored if you decide to drink straight from the bottle, tests have shown that often they are stored outside in crates and this leaves them open for rodents to pee over the tops of them!!!!!!!!! Nice eh?

My dad when he was alive. used to work for greenall whitleys. in warrington. and he told me . that if you seen what was in the top of the vats. that brewed the lager and bitter. you would never touch a single drop again. im sure this has changed know. with all the health and saftey. im going back early 80,s. but the story,s he told me. about what they used to find in there. would make you sick......

Blimey Paul. don't put me off my San Miguel. I know what you mean though. A mate of mine usd to say it was impossible to have a bad pint of beer because it's sterile. A load of cobblers of course.
Getting back to the nuts though, I only have myself to blame. It's something I avoid like the plague usually, but maybe after several jars of San Mig I lost all sense.....must've done because I ordered chips at 2am and proceeded to put milk and sugar all over them, and salt and vinegar in my tea. Doh!!!!!!

i was in manchester the other weekend. and was on pints of san miguel
on draft. normally when i go to spain . i can drink bottles of it for fun.
i only had about 7 pints. and i was talking broken biscuits.
it must be a lot stronger on draft than in bottles ron.
