I can tell you not to rely on the Germans due to past experience!
Our family was round the pool one day at the hotel in Rhodes, Greece, we got split up coz he had to take daughters to the loos while I looked after baby son, as we didnt want them to wander off alone. In exitement to get back to the pool , youngest daughter ran back, went down some steps into pool and then found herself out of her depth, (luckily she had arm bands on or would have drowned) and was panicking and shouting for help, I was seeing to son and didnt realise she had come back without her dad and sister. Then I suddenly heard her and saw her Dad who had to jump in pool fully clothed with mobile phone in pocket to get her, while all the Germans just lay there ignoring her.
I wouldnt have minded but they had put there towels out at three am to sit round the pool, hogging all the best sunbeds, then they wont help anyone, selfish Gits.
She learnt her lesson anyway.

Not all Germans are bad, when I was a little girl I floated away on an airbed in the sea at Cornwall, no one could reach me, luckily 2 young german men who was at the other side of the beach saw me and ran across the beach and jumped into a little boat and rescued me. without them I might not be here today.

I must admit I've never come across a rude German but I've seen plenty of badly behaved Brits on holiday, and not just the youngsters either. I know Germans, Italians and some other Europeans push and shove but it's their way of life, so I just do the same, push in like they do and don't just stand back and let them through. It always works.

There's good and bad everywhere. I've met some really friendly Germans, Russians etc. I still shudder when I remember my first Med holiday, the rudeness of one particular British group.

Slightly off topic.........Also be careful when in the sea!
In Goa, India, 200 people have drowned in the sea in the last four years!

True, whereever you go theres always a mixture of different nationalitys who misbehave, i stayed in a hotel when the German tour opperator was all inclusive at the hotel, Yet the english tour operator only goes halfboard, the Germans went round acting like they owned the place.
