B&B or AI?

Definetely B&B in my opinion! There are lots of great restaurants and beach shacks in Goa which serve great food and are so cheap! Drinks are cheap too, so no advantage to all inclusive. I also feel that when you eat in local restaurants you are able to put more money in to the lovely area of Goa. I've stayed at the Renaissance and the Kenilworth - both in the south area of Goa, which I prefer as it's quieter than the north.

Looks good and got a few good reviews.

I agree go for BB or room only as we went some years ago to Candolim on a BB and we met a wonderful family who owned a beach shack they were running. The mother was called Lilia and her daughter Willameena. Willameena invited us both to her home in Candolim for a meal. We took her by taxi shopping to the market and she thought it was wonderful to have such luxrey. I would like to go back and see how they are all getting on some day.

I think if you go BB you have the chance when going to resaurants to meet the locals and get to know all about them. A year later after our holiday in Goa we received an invitation to Willameenas wedding but as we had already booked our holiday we could not go which was a shame because they were a lovley friendly family.

I don't think that the M Douradha does AI
good hotel though, even if it is a bit out of the way.
I don't think that anyone who goes a second time does AI as there are so many good eateries around but can understand a first timer wanting to.

I've heard you can eat out all day (breakfast, lunch and dinner plus all drinks) for less than a tenner a day..........BRILLIANT!!

Iain
I'd agree with you on the 'tenner a day' budget unless you're eating jumbo prawns or stuff like that and don't drink wine or go into the 'Sports Bars'.

We find the drinks in those places quite expensive (by Candolim standards) and we're more happy sitting in a place watching the world go by than watching sport on giant screens.

Incidentally, we'd NEVER EVER go All Inclusive in Goa.

B&B or AI?

Thanks for that Polly.

Like you I am more than happy to sit at a bar and make conversation with whoever. I don't want to know whats happened in the news, watch any football, see the results or read a newspaper.

I want to be immersed into the Goan culture and enjoy my time getting to know other people and other cultures.

And you're right, B&B is the best way to do all that.
