| An Egyptian Tourism Counsellor has been in India recently promoting Egypt as a much cheaper place to holiday than Goa.

Looks like the Goan authorities are going to get hit from all sides as far as losing tourists go!!
Still.....the beaches will be emtpy when I go again next year

| well iain i just read the artical, and i found it realy funny but also full of lies realy,i have friends who holiday in egypt and although it is cheap its not nearly as cheap as goa.its cheaper to get to egypt than goa because of the distance but goa is cheper once you get there.besides the indians arent daft they've known about egypt for as long as everyone else in the world and i dont think they will be suckered into what Samy Mahmoud has to say(I HOPE).all the same i think i'll be keeping an eye on this topic and see what happens.

| The Indian Government could hit back by making it a lot easier to get into India!! The hassle of getting a visa with a postal order and then the hassle when you get to the airport both arriving and departing makes us think twice about going again!

| i know what you mean with the visa's they are a pain but as for all the messing about at the airport with all the checks i think we had our bag checked 3 times before boarding the plane which we thought was great that the indian government take terrorism so seriously,i dint think anyone should complain about how long it takes to board the plane i'd rather it take a ong while rather that letting everyone on and not knowing if someone has smuggled a weapon or wors eon board.

| It's not the security aspect that was a hassle - it was the fact that before you got into India many people stamped the many forms and then x-rayed your baggage and wanted to check everything you were bringing into the country!! On departure they wanted to keep the rechargable batteries out of our camera and I don't think this was for security reasons!

| Yes, we've been there 3 times and do love the people, beaches and food. We got the batteries back when money was mentioned and exchanged!!
