| Hi,
I'm going to Goa for the first time in Jan, wondering what the situation is really like with regards to how safe the water is.
Staying at the Bogmallo Beach resort, anyone know if their water is safe for drinking and/or brushing teeth, making tea with (if boiled)?
Also, what about the water you buy in bottles in Goa, is it true that about 25% of bottles are just tap water?
Has anyone heard of/used the water filter bottles that you can buy? Do they work or are they just a waste of money?
Cheers,
Jo

| My first time coming up in March 2008. What I've read so far states that you shouldn't drink tap water. Use bottled water for brushing teeth, drinking etc.
I have also read that most of the modern hotels use bottled water to make ice cubes.
But then there's washing of salad leaves and as you say tea/coffee etc.
Anyone help????

| We've always cleaned our teeth with tap water.
When buying bottled water, just make sure the seal is still intact.
We do tend to have ice in our drinks, but we DO have quite strong stomaches and very rarely get ill, so I guess it depends on your constitution.

| there is little wrong with the tap water in goa but it does have a very high mineral content which can upset your stomache and give you gum problems, bottled water in goa is the cheapest ive seen anywhere else just be sure the seal isnt broken.

| Most hotels and bigger bars including the shacks make their ice from bought in ice blocks!
I saw them being delivered and being nosy asked what they were.
